The Compassionate Termination

I once worked for a guy that really showed compassion for his employees, even the ones that didn’t work out. If an employee was not performing to expectations and the decision was made that they needed to leave the company, he would give the employee several months of notice, give them time off to go interview, and even offer to be a reference. There was a real level of class in that one. It went a long way for all employees.
